Your Part
A man sat in lodge for a year and told anyone who would listen that the Brotherhood was not what he expected. The lodge felt cold, cliquish, unwelcoming. He was not wrong about every observation. He was wrong about the conclusion.
In twelve months, he had not called a single absent Brother. He had not volunteered for a single meal. He had not once walked across the room to introduce himself to someone he did not know. He had waited for Brotherhood to arrive like a package, and when it did not, he blamed the delivery.
Brotherhood is built with the men around you. If it is missing, the hard question is not why the lodge failed to provide it. The hard question is what have you contributed?

It is in posts like this that I am reminded of the serenity prayer, and the search for wisdom. Great post Brother!
